After pleasant arrival at the airport or your hotel, depart for Tarangire, Tanzania's third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

After breakfast, we'll make the short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park, 120 km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good 70% of the park's land. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park we will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the largest unbroken calderas on the planet with over 25,000 wild creatures in the caldera. It has more prides per capita than anywhere else on earth. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five, that is, lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants, and buffalos. It is one of the world’s most astonishing and among the 8th Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers mountain forests, woodlands, grasslands, lakes, swamps, and two major rivers. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. Late in the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha which marks the end of your adventures with us.
